No, there is no way to tell how long ago pot was smoked, just that it was (or wasn't). Drinking a lot of water does absolutely nothing as the chemical they are looking for is not "washed away" with water.
Good luck with your test! :) Perhaps you should lay off the weed next time you have a drug test coming up.
They won't be able to tell how long ago you smoked. If you were a heavy smoker before, it will probably take 6-8 weeks to get out of your system. Good luck.
PS - drink Cranberry juice - it's good for you
If the urine sample is watered down a lot, you will fail the test. That's one huge way of telling on yourself. Water won't wash the THC out of the sample
