Working out and physical therapy didn't help me at all. So I highly doubt that they would help you. Same with braces. The only way to truly fix scoliosis is surgery.

The exercises you should do will depend on the configuration of your scoliosis, and everybody's is a bit different. Oh the first website below there is a page on exercises to avoid because they'll make it worse.

Best of all would be to find a physical therapist certified in the Schroth method, which is specific to scoliosis. See the list on the second website below.

Exercising is always good. By increasing your core strength, exercising could help keep your curve from increasing. But its not guaranteed.

I had my scoliosis detected in 7th grade and wore a Milwaukee brace from 8th grade until my freshman year in college. I was borderline on whether to have surgery or not so it was decided not to do it. Over the years, my curve increased so I had my spine fused at age 39.

Yes. And seeing an Osteopathic manual practitioner will help you even more.
Many people have a mild scoliosis and don't have any phsiological issues or even know they have one. Surgery is reserved for serious cases, and it's not always successful or has the hoped for outcome. There are no guarantees with surgery.

not really. exercise will increase the tone of fully innervated muscles and help support your back a little more, but only as long as you continue doing it. the inadequately innervated muscles, the ones responsible for the distortion, will not improve. overall, you will aggravate your back's stiffness by increasing the use of these neurogenically weak muscles. see an hio method upper cervical specific chiropractor to correct the cause of your nerve interference.

you need to take advice from the Doctor about this....Scoliosis varies from mild to severe....and nobody here can help you.

my neice had surgery to put steel rods into her back due to Scoliosis....and the operation has been successful - but she spent a lot of time in a body brace. maybe an overnight body brace might help you too...which is why you would need medical advice.
