Why is my tolerance still so high when I take painkillers?!

Question: Why is my tolerance still so high when I take painkillers?
About a year ago I stopped taking oxycodones and other painkillers everday because I was getting really addicted and my tolerance was pretty high. Well since then I just take them maybe like 2 days out of the month to get some relief for my pain because I know if I take them everday again theres gonna be a problem again. Now its been about a year and my tolerance only went down a little bit. I mean its not as high as it was but I still have a high tolerance. I was wondering why that is since I only take them two days out of the month?

Answers:

When you take pain killers your body will eventually adjust to them building your tolerance. Even if you stop taking them your body will still remember them when you next take it. What you need to do is change the type of pain killers yo uare taking. You need to take one that is of a different chemical make up. that way your body is not used to it.
