Antibiotics wouldn't help your sore throat anyway unless it's part of a serious bacterial infection. Your parents should take you to the doctor if there's any chance you have strep throat. If they don't do this, they're guilty of negligence.

If you have a cold or allergy, the sore throat could be due to post nasal drip--that is, mucus from congested nasal passages dripping into your throat. You may or may not have a runny nose to go with it. If it's post nasal drip, over the counter decongestants help.

If all you're concerned about is relieving the pain, gargling with warm saltwater helps. Use about a teaspoon or two of salt to a cup of water (enough so that it tastes pleasantly salty) and warm it to lukewarm (if you heat it hotter than that, let it cool to lukewarm). Gargling with that eases throat pain.

Hey man! I would recommend that you go out to that safeway that was located near you and get some throat pills! http://www.overstockdrugstore.com/product_images/k/312546632639.jpg something like that! and then always when you go out wear a hat and a scarf and zip your jacket up tight, if you get cold the sore throat wont go away, even inside if you feel cold make sure to put on an extra sweatshirt! :)

Put a warm scarf around your neck and keep it warm, a heating pad on low works great..licorice candy will help coat your throat.
