You'll need to contact your on-call GP, if you haven't got the number, ring NHS direct on 0845 4647 and they will advise. The on-call Doctor will start you on antibiotics and you can give a sample of urine to your GP on Monday- if a different antibiotic is needed, they wil change it.

There are no home remedies. Once the infection has established, only antibiotics will resolve it. Cranberry juice will NOT resolve an active infection. Ignore the quacks. Untreated UTIs can be fatal.

Edit: Hi Nate!

You've got two issues happening at once.
1.) You suspect an UTI based on pain in your kidney or lower back.
2.) You suspect you may be pregnant or at least think there is a chance of pregnancy.

Issue 1: Don't wait until Monday. Go to the ER if your symptoms get worse. The only thing you can take, especially if you suspect pregnancy, is a natural diuretic. Cranberry juice (diet) comes to mind.
If an UTI is determined, antibiotics will be prescribed.

Issue 2: Again, dont wait until Monday. If your symptoms get worse, go to the ER. Depending on your date of conception, you may find out if you are pregnant and get adequate treatment if you have a UTI.

Don't wait until monday.

good luck.

You can try cranberry supplements. They are located with the vitamins. They are natural but have a higher concentration. Trust me they work. I have talked to my doctor about it and even seen lab results when my daughter had a UTI and was using them. I use them often. My family has a history of urinary and kidney problems. You can take two of them up to three times a day.

A UTI isn't brought on by stress, it's a bacterial infection. Drinking a lot of water or cranberry juice won't do anything to clear it up. You need antibiotics for that. See a doctor ASAP, even if it is not your own.

;)

Drink rakes of water - and I mean loads. Go to the pharmacy and buy some over the counter medicines to help clear it up. If it isn't shifting or you're getting worse, ring NHS Direct for advice.

cranberry juice is supposed to be a home remedy for UTI also LOTS of water.

I can't see the harm in trying cranberry and then on Monday see your Doctor.
