Mg citrate, Mag citrate and Magnesium citrate are all the same.
You need to take it with food or straight after food. If you take it without food it can irritate your stomach lining and it won't be absorbed very well. Without any food dietary supplements are very hard to digest.
Whilst you are on it you can eat and drink as normal.
