No, some stones contain water, and will explode if heated. I would suggest putting them in a big empty pot - boil water in ANOTHER pot, then pour the boiling water on the stones to heat them.

It depends on the rock. It is safer to put them in the oven or a toaster oven. Some rocks contain metallic components and these would not be safe. The main issue with heating rocks is that they can have moisture trapped inside and that can burst. Rocks used for massage should be dried out thoroughly over a long period of time in the oven at a low heat. That will get the moisture out and make them less likely to crack when heated.

Presumably you want to heat it.It should be OK, as long as it's not a ferrous rock. Put it in the oven and turn it on - if you see sparks, turn it off right away; if you don't it should be find. You'll need to experiment to find out how long it takes to heat the stones - they're presumably quite dense, which means that they'll take a while to heat through.

Edit: Microwave ovens work by exciting polarised molecules, i.e. any polarised molecule, not only water.

No.

1. Microwaves heat food by causing water molecules to vibrate. This won't work well on a rock.
2. If the rock has metal content, you might ruin your microwave.

How about heating some water in the microwave and putting the rock in that afterward?
