I drove my moms car to the train station and parked it, then i got out, locked the doors and i went into my friends car. I was unaware that my friend was about to get out of his car and meet with an undercover DEA agent to sell prescription pills. The agents were already there and they were going to bust my friend after the sale. So im sitting in his car and he finished his sale then the cops stormed in and arrested us. They took my keys and my 2000 dollars and in my property there isn't any money. They searched my moms car and found her legal prescription medication in her name, in her car but yet they are charging me with possession but i wasn't in possession of anything. And they are charging me with attempt to sell. But i had never sold anything to anyone. They aren't releasing the car. How can we get her car back??? THANKS

you just happened to have 2k in cash at a drug transaction? and went to a train station to get into a car? You had the car, whats in it is in your possession. The money is in evidence now, and not considered yours anymore. You really set yourself up good on this one, a good lawyer might be able to get the charges dropped, at least down to just to simple possession, that should release the car. You might have to trade cooperation, but I'm betting your already told them everything they needed or that they don't need much more then they already have from their surveillance. Good lawyers are hard to find, stay very involved in your case personally. Read every thing they have on your case. Your mom might be able to file a hardship waiver to get the car back, until the case is decided, it's a long shot, but worth looking into.
