Question: I was reading on www.askodette.com that drinking Wheatgrass juice can help with my GERD, is this accurate?
Is Wheatgrass really something that can treat my GERD? I was reading on www.askodette.com that things such a Heartburn or Acid Reflux Disease can be treated with a daily regime of Wheatgrass Juice consumption, does anyone have first hand experience with this approach?

I have used an extremely alkaline diet, Aloe Vera Juice and active 14 manuka honey to treat my own GERD. there is actually an Aloe Vera and Wheatgrass drink called Alo and it is sold in most health food stores. I am a former user of aciphidex and other prescriptions to control GERD.

diagnosed with GERD 4 years ago.

Hi James,
Wheatgrass and wheatgrass juice are highly regarded by the alternative and natural medicine crowd for helping a vast list of diseases including digestive problems. The traditional medical opinion seems to be that it may help and probably won't hurt. About the only contraindications are for pregnant or nursing women or people who have an allergy to grass.

There are a lot of natural substances, including many foods, that will relieve GERD symptoms. The best course is to find out what the underlying cause of your GERD is. Sometimes Candida overgrowth or H. Pylori are the culprits and sometimes something a simple as changing your diet can make a big difference. White four and white sugar are two substances that add nothing to your health in the way of nutrients but can cause all kinds of havoc in your system.

Hope this helps!

I don't have any information about the Wheatgrass for Gerd, but I do know of a trusted remedy. Bragg apple cider vinegar. Take one Tablespoon mixed with some warm (not hot) water and honey (or stevia) right before meals. This should do it! You should be able to find the vinegar locally at a health food store. If not, you can order it online. Whatever the brand, it must be raw, organic and unpasteurized!

It would be a good idea for you to add in a good probiotic ( I highly recommend Flora More 12 billion by Renew Life). Also, you might want to strongly consider using digestive enzymes as well (I like Now Super Enzyme Capsules). All of these products are extremely important for proper digestive health.

If you have Gerd you have a muscular damage to your esophagus, even if the wheat grass helps I don't see it working to complete success. Gerd can kill you in your sleep, regurgitating acid and inhaling it. Is this worth the risk? Be smart and get all the information you can and discuss it with your doctor before you quit the medicine first.

I don't about Wheatgrass but there are several natural treatments for acid reflux and gerd. I found this video that really helped so check it out...
