What is the best way to quit smoking?!

Question: What is the best way to quit smoking?
I'm 22 and have smoked ever since i was 18. I am a socially sensitive person (self-counscious, no self-confidence, easlily hurt, hate uncomfortable eyecontacts, always dont know what to say....you name it!) so i get really stressed out when i have to face all the people in school and smoking has always been my only way of relaxing. Like all smokers i know smoking is very bad for me, and like most smokers i have wanted to quit for a long time but havent been able to. More than my other smoking friends, tobacco has effected my health in a really obvious way already. I get constant heart aches, my voice is always dry, i get head aches, throat pains and lately i got bronchitis. Even though, i still cant quit. I have tried exercising but if i move too much i cant breathe. I feel like i really need thoses freaking ciggs to make it through each day. So what should i do? I cant quit or take a yr off from school it is really not an option. More confidence? Dont think that i havnt tried.

Just stop...cold turkey.I kicked a 3 pack a day habit that way, 16 years ago and never touched another coffin nail since.

If you happen to catch the flu this season, take advantage. You know how it is when you are sick, you don't want to smoke, and you already feel crummy, so you don't notice the withdrawal.

Keep in mind that to people who don't smoke, you look foolish. That might help you "deal" when you are out in public. Besides, smoking doesn't help you deal with stress. It IS stress.

Hang in there kiddo, you'll be ok.

I quit by using Cinnamon flavored toothpicks. Every time I wanted a smoke I popped a toothpick in my mouth.

Ask God for help. It always works! I know plenty of people that stopped smoking and were healed in less than 24 hours just because they turned to God.

Please consider looking into Meridian Tapping (also known as EFT). It can help with all of the issues you listed above. it is a simple process of tapping on the body's meridian points (hand, face, top of head, collar bone) to release the energetic charge around habits, emotional hurts, physical pain and a host of other issues. Google Carol Look or The Tapping Solution and give it a try. I have been practicing EFT since 2008 and wish more people knew about it. Do not beat yourself up for lack of will power or weakness when it comes to any of the issues you describe.

I smoked for 6 or 7 years... after new year's eve when i smoked almost 40 cigs I decided that I am gonna do something bout it. After having a cuppa I went to boots and I got meself Niquitin 21mg patches and mini lozenges. I've decided to use the patches next day and try reducing cigs with lozenges 1st. It was goin great. Next day in the morning I put the patch on and since then i haven't been smoking for 38 days. Had 2 bad days but every single time I was craving a fag I just had a lozenge (you can get like 60 mini-lozenges - i prefer cherry one - for £9 or so) on sat i'm goin on step 2 for another 2 weeks. it was spontaneous decision and i didn't think bout it a lot but I am glad i stopped coz otherwise i'd tell myself that i'm gonna finish this pack then buy another and another and so on... just give it a go m8... don't buy nicotinnel tho coz it's shite imo... btw i'm 22 and was smoking 17 a day or sometimes more
