Doctor prescribed seroquel...?!

Question: Doctor prescribed seroquel...?
Im 22...been fighting depression and anxiety for years. tried zoloft a few years ago and it was just blah.ivee been so depressed and paniced lately i just need something that will work NOW. I told doc this. I hate waiting for something to work. I NEED to feel happy for once...He gave me seroquel...starting at 50mg today 50 tomorrow 100 next day and then 150 there on out...During our talk i told him about my tiredness all the time and i never want to get off the couch and i just want some motivation soooo badly....Now that ive been reading about this seroquel it sounds pracically like a sleeping pill. He said it will make me tired for a few days til i get used to it but seems like everyone is saying they are in a fog and can hardly stay awake. I have a full time job...how the hell is this going to help?!

That's one major issue with most antidepressants (which I've read that they don't help any more than placebo in unbiased studies)... it makes too many people feel like "zombies".
I would also recommend calling up your doctor's office, but you may not need to see them... just tell the receptionist/nurse/doctor that you read up on the side effects and you can't take something that will calm you down because you're already low on energy. If you also say that you don't have insurance and can't afford to come in for another appointment, you might be able to have the doctor write a different prescription and void the old one without actually seeing him (if they are nice enough to take a minute of their time to help you).

If they won't write another script for you or if you just can't pay for it (the drug or the visit), you could try some natural options instead. Some of the most popular natural products for helping with mood are St. John's Wort, SAMe, 5-HTP, Rhodiola Rosea, and some stress-relievers like GABA or L-Theanine can help, too. Deficiencies of Vitamin D have also been shown to cause depression so you could try taking a 2,000 IU dose of Vitamin D (a small enough dose to not be toxic and high enough dose to help if you're short)... the only exception would be if you're outside a lot in a sunny area.
Aside from supplements, you can also try going out and doing things you enjoy, spending time with friends, or even having a good cry. If that's not enough to help, maybe talking it out with a trusted friend or an objective third-party person (like a counselor).
Just remember, even though you might feel bad, it's never as bad as it may feel. Everyone goes through tough times and we can all get through it... sometimes we just need a little extra help ;-) Good luck and I hope I helped!

I dont have all the details like the person before but XTC is PERFECT for depression and anxiety. It opens a new mind set for things and will give you a more positive outlook on life. You for sure wont be sitting on the couch or be tired. It will almost 100% make you happy. just do it on a weekend night and just enjoy it. I know it sounds bad but i actually have a friend who has to combat manic depression and random fits of rage and nothing doctor perscribed helps. Theyll give you whatever they want to get money. He does XTC on occasion and unless something really bad happens to mess it up hes in a good mood all the time and has no stress issues and he works 5 days a week and does school full time.

I mean honestly just read up on it, not Govt studies pick unbiased ones ... Erowid has good forums in the experience vault and look at unbiased forums to read what you need to do to ensure a good roll. Its a great eye opener. Take some 5-HTP with it also. its a natural mood enhancer that puts serotonin into your brain which does nothing but make you happy and a little more hyper than usual. Thats available at walmart for like 7 bucks and it really does help
