Am I making this green tea right?!

I have a tea kettle at home. I fill the kettle to about halfway to the spout, then I drop a pack of store bought Lipton green tea packages into the pot, then I put it on the stove and put the oven nob to a hi of 7. It boils for a couple of minutes and then I hear the whistle and I take it off to cool. Am I doing this right?? I want to reap the health benefits from the tea.
