Question about detox and colon cleanse product?!

Detoxing and/or colon cleansing have absolutely no medical benefit and are in fact harmful to the digestive system and internal organs.
There is no build up of bad plaque or sludge in a normal system.
If we had a layer of undigested foods or "toxins" lining our systems, we would all be dying of malnutrition since we would be unable to absorb any nutrients.
Our bodies "detox" 24 hours a day through respiration, sweat, liver, and kidneys.
We can help detox by eating a healthy diet with minimal added sugar and salt. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods, beans, peas, and brown rice keep a system as healthy as it can be. The less processed your food is, the better.
Minimal alcohol, caffeine, soda. Try to drink 100 oz of ice cold water per day.
Read food labels. If you can't pronounce it, don't put it in your body. Extreme detoxing diets or supplements actually flush out the beneficial bacteria and enzymes in the digestive system.
To "cleanse" the digestive system, search foods high in soluble fiber.
Soluble fiber "encapsulates" fatty acids and toxins as they pass through the system minimizing absorption of fats and re-absorption of toxins.
15 bean soup is a great hot food right now high in soluble fiber. Fiber foods give the intestines a good workout by giving them something to push against. Oh ya, that action (peristalsis) burns calories as well.
Spend your money in the produce department instead of giving it to someone peddling unproven, unregulated, and even dangerous products.

These supplement manufacturers are using humans (you) as guinea pigs with these unapproved products.
As long as no one gets sick or dies, or they don't get fined or shut down, they will continue to make and peddle this crap under current law.
They don't care whether it works or not as long as they get your money.

There is no such thing as "detox" outside of rehab centers. What you're doing is basically giving an enema to your entire GI tract.

I prefer the Renew Life products because they utilize herbs and no harsh side effects like cramps or or anything. You can buy these products at the health food store or online.

No, they do not exist. Sure there's plenty of products that claim to, but they are all scams.

If you needed this procedure then a doctor would recommend it.

Health food store or nutrition center. Even the pharmacist at Walmart might be able to recommend something. There are many products. Everyone has a favorite.
