I hate my glasses but i still wear them coz i heard if i dont my eyesight will become poorer. i dont want to wear contacts.......will carrots actually imprve my eyesight to a point where i wil no longer need the aid of glasses??i also eat fish in abundance.

Answers:

Carrots alone, with nothing else are not likely to make any noticeable difference. Fish also helps, but still not enough. If your eye problem is simple myopia (near-sightedness), you have been misinformed. Your eyesight does not get worse without glasses, it gets worse WITH them. That's why people with glasses typically have to get stronger ones every few years. There are a number of things you can do to improve myopia. If you are young and haven't been wearing glasses long, it is easier and more effective, but improvement is possible in any case. I recommend:

1) Take the following nutrients either separately or combined in a capsule especially for vision:
.....a) beta Carotene (the nutrient in carrots)
.....b) Astaxanthin (the nutrient in chia seeds) and/or Zeaxanthin
.....c) Lycopine (a nutrient in tomatoes)
.....d) alpha Lipoic acid
.....e) Zinc GTF
.....f) Quercetin (a nutrient in capers and dried onions)
.....g) Bilberry extract
.....h) Krill Oil (Omega-3 fatty acids)
Eating foods with these ingredients is probably adequate in some cases, like chia seeds for astaxanthin, but not in others.
2) Avoid:
.....a) Wearing glasses more than absolutely necessary.
.....b) Aspartame, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar (check ingredients on processed foods before buying).
.....c) Alcohol
.....d) Smoking
.....e) Excessive carbohydrates (converts to sugar in body).
.....f) Long periods of close up vision (when viewing things close up (computers, books, whatever) take at least a ten second break every ten minutes looking at something at least seven feet away.
3) Eye exercises. There are a number of eye exercises that definitely help; too many detail here, but there are commercial products that describe those exercises and provide some aids, such as this:
http://www.bettervision.com
For free alternatives, Google "vision therapy", "vision training", "behavioral optometry"
Stereoscopic 3D vision by divergeance / convergeance (bare eyes) is also helpful. See examples at:
http://www.3dpic.net/3d-pictures-gallery… and
http://www.youtube.com/user/xyoureyes#g/…
4) Body exercises. Delivery of nutrients to eyes and brain requires the rest of the body, such as the circulatory system to be working well also. Exercise recommendations are as follows:
.....a) Anaerobic exercise 20 Min / Day two or three times a week. Recommend: http://tinyurl.com/peak8 and http://tinyurl.com/peak8-2 Before the anaerobics, take a Vitamin K and B6, Arginine, and GABA supplements. Have a whey protein drink after anaerobics, and preferably before as well.
.....b) Strength and core exercises, also described in the second link above. For best results, do them within two hours (the sooner the better) after a) anaerobics above.
.....c) Other kinds of exercises (aerobic, stretching) on other days, as desired.
5) Brain exercises. See http://www.lumosity.com
6) Accommotrac therapy - expensive but effective:

Carrots won't improve your eyesight. While you do need vitamin A for eye health, and carrots contain carotenes which your liver converts to vitamin A, that's it; carrots will have zero impact on refractive eye disorders.

The carrot myth was started in WW2 by the Royal Air Force (RAF) to mislead the Germans. The RAF was covering up their new radar technology by claiming RAF night fighter pilots had super night vision due to carrots.

There are NO foods, supplements or eye exercises that will improve your eyesight; your options are glasses, contacts or surgery. It makes sense if you think about it; millions and millions of people still need to wear glasses.

No - carrots don't improve your eyesight per se. What they DO provide is a good dose of vitamin A. Vitamin A is required for NIGHT VISION......if you are vitamin A deficient and you eat carrots, you may be better able to see in dim light - but they will do nothing to improve your VISUAL ACUITY.

Yes, carrots and other orange fruits and vegetables are good for the eyes. So are purple fruits and vegetables.
Carrots, oranges, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, eggplant, purple grapes, plums.
Don't know if it will get to the point where you don't need glasses but my eye doctor told me those colored fruits/veggies are all great for the eyes!

Only if you have vitamin A deficiency.

in addition to some other herbs and honey.
