How to quit/stop smoking?!

Question: How to quit/stop smoking?
I've the habit of smoking for past 8 years. I've stopped smoking several times but I used to start it again. My maximum quit period is 7months. I know it is bad for health and Very addictive habit, but I couldn't avoid it immediately.

My friends and co-workers used to smoke. Even If I stop smoking I'm tempted to smoke when I see them smoking.

Can anyone suggest any way to stop it completely??

Hi, I understand what you are going through. I have been there and done that. It was not easy.It sure required a tenatious mind. And genuine help. When I was down that path, I frequented a website to get the information and encouragement. Hope you can benefit from it too. Good luck and You can do it!

If you stopped for 7 months, you are strong-willed enough to overcome the physical addiction of tobacco--good for you!

The mental addiction is triggered by habit: the good morning smoke, the after meal smoke, the coffee-break smoke, etc. You must be prepared to do something else when the urge strikes in these situations. (Have some sunflower seeds or some vegetables handy, like a bag of carrots--no one ever got fat by eating vegetables.

The 3rd and most difficult addiction to break is the emotional addiction. Nicotine has a calming effect, so you are vulnerable to temptation when you are startled or get stressed out. You must have alternatives to mellow such as going for a walk, meditation or some chamomile tea.

Once you see the addictions for what they are, you can overcome them. You have proven that with by overcoming the physical addiction.

Yes, make yourself sick (finger down throat if necessary) several times a day, (not after a meal), and in 3 days you will have removed all the nicotine residue in your body and you will never crave a cigarette again. Been cigarette free for 9 years after finding this out accidentally while in hospital on a drip that contained Tramal. I didn't have to make myself sick though, just the smell of food did it.
Same thing works for morning sickness, but you must do it first thing every morning BEFORE you eat anything. That gets rid of the accumulation of bile that has built up overnight. This worked for me in 1964, but you have to do it yourself to realise how beneficial it is. No need for medication for either complaint! And no will power whatsoever.

Been there - done that

In order to quit smoking, you need to increase your self confidence. A common problem with many quit smoking cures is that people resume the habit a few months after they quit. With mindmaster your non-smoking affirmations dispay on your computer screen as long as you want, greatly reducing your desire to light up a cigarette.

If you really want to quit, go to a Hypnotist. In many cases, people go in for a 1/2 hour session and walk out a non-smoker. It depends on your motivation and how bad you want to quit. If you are not serious about quitting, nothing seems to work all that well. Good Luck. (make sure that you believe in yourself and your ability to kick this habit)

take to chewing non-nicotine gum. (freshmint in niiicce). and think of how much you will smell after; that'd put me off lol xD

ps. then try to kick the chewing gum habit coz that's a bad one to have as well lol xD hope this helped xx

EDIT: also, stick to healthy diet and exercise (which releases happy hormones and boosts confidence and stuff). veggies are good ;)

Hey,

Not really trying to push a product on you like some of the other people who have responded have. However, I quit by using an electronic cig to curb my cravings. It worked for me. See the website in the source area. Best of luck!

Just stop. That's what I did after nine years of slightly more than a pack a day. It was just too expensive a habit. I quit when the price of a pack went up to 35 cents! They must be twice that by now.
