It's certainly bad for your lungs. And it can lead to unrestrained eating, among other things.

Well its certainty isn't good for you, but its also not the worst thing. One of the most dangerous things about it (in my mind) is that you can get very addicted to it and that it can follow up to some more hardcore drugs...
Back to the subject. Its more dangerous to smoke Marijuana than smoking cigarettes but its also (depending if you are able to control yourself and not getting too addicted) safer than drinking alcohol...

Its good for you. Its a plant made from the earth. Yes it is bad to be SMOKING it because it is plant matter. Eating it with some type of food or drink is more safe. Besides that, marijuana is not bad for you whatsoever. It has been proven not to cause any types of lung cancers even after YEARS of someone smoking it. All the ads you see on tv like the Above the Influence are funded by Alcohol companies. Alcohol companies WANT you to not do marijuana because they want all the money and they want all the addicts. Even so, marijuana is rarely addictive. Me myself smoke it only about once a week. I know people who do it everyday and have a 4.0 GPA in college. Its good for you. Its beneficial.

No, marijuana is not bad for you. I'll list off the reasons why people say it's "bad" for you:

-Addiction: There have been many studies trying to find something in marijuana that's addictive, but they never found anything.

-Kills brain cells: This was probably the most contreversial argument for pot. Reagan had just sent out a war on drugs and one of his acts was to conduct a study in which four monkeys were to smoke everyday for a year. The monkeys died within months. What they didn't tell you was that the monkeys were pumped with THC smoke. In other words, they suffocated the monkeys. What they did after they killed them was collect brain cells, which showed that the brain cells died. But brain cells die from a lack of oxygen, which makes sense because they cut off the oxygen to the monkeys.

-Lowers sperm count: There were studies involving animals that showed it lowered sperm count. They did the same studies on humans and the results came back with no such thing. Some people actually increased the sperm count.

-Lung Cancer: They say that marijuana has over 200 chemicals in it that are going into your lungs. There are over 800 chemicals in tobacco. There have been many studies that disprove that marijuana causes lung cancer.

Another important point that I'd like to say is that alcohol is 100 times worse than marijuana. Alcohol causes over 80,000 deaths a year while marijuana gets ZERO. I've also never heard of somebody getting high, going home, and beating their wife.

I am an occasional smoker, and I'm not a burnout, a bum, or a screwup. I'm going to college right now and I'm perfectly normal. Don't listen to that AboveTheInfluence BS. It's just propaganda.

I have smoked for 35 years and it has only helped me,
just got a chest x-ray and it's clean and clear...
it helped me stay active in the work force for many years, I am now on Social Security Disability due to pain, however the Marijuana helps relieve the pain, I have a card for using Medical Marijuana and my doctors know I use it...I also take muscle relaxants, Xanex and 5 hydrocodone a day, I just wish the Marijuana was enough...it's more natural

I like this guy above me, his answer pwns!

I read this in another post about this issue and gave my response to it. here it is

"Damages the cells in the bronchial passages, increases in pulmonary infections, weakens various natural immune mechanisms, worsens heart rate (especially in those with high blood pressure), highly increases the risk of heart attack, causes persistent coughing, symptoms of bronchitis, more frequent chest colds, suppresses the production of hormones that help regulate the reproductive system, impairs memory and causes inability to learn, causes anxiety attacks or feelings of paranoia,"

... who did this research? Govt paid scientist probably. and whod they pick to do the research for it? Ppl that already had health issues, smoked cigarettes, addicted to another drugs, or developed a dependency for the marijuana due to cancerous issues. Even then not a big enough percentage of those people is big enough to make an accurate assumption. They dont do tests on avid weed users, they dont do tests on kids in school who smoke every day with no health issues. Why would they? because it would make weed look better than what they are trying to say it is.

Your right it hasnt killed anyone and even if any of those things above are true it still hasnt killed anyone. Im around pot smokers constantly, new one and ones who have smoked for over 30 years, and not one of them has ever gotten deathly ill, had coughing problems, had throat problems, had a weakened immune system leading to more common colds.

The only problem ive EVER seen is that pot smokers are tired. But hell when i get high and stay up all night playing Halo Reach im a pretty tired person too

Personal experience, extensive readings on govt funded tests and random mildly unbiased tests (all tests are biased in some way), multiple videos from unbiased scientists

Anything in excess is bad for you. So, don't smoke all day every day. It is a natural herb that has proven benefits such as easing pain (menstrual cramps to cancer), it can help ease nausea (from chemo for example), improves appetite for those that need to improve their appetite. It isn't the best for your lungs to inhale the smoke but it's better than cigarette smoke by a long shot. It can cause a lack of motivation if taken to excess. All in all, I believe it is a safe drug and is safer than alcohol.

In a very narrow view, as an ex-toker and cigarette smoker, a big reason I quit was b/c of the damage of the smoke itself to my lungs and how the habits have affected my ability to breathe. Pollution is pollution in a lot of ways.

Better can cancer sticks

Unicorns on their own are dangerous.
Unicorns while inhaling illegal drugs are more dangerous.
