Who knows anything about vitamin D3 supplements while breastfeeding?!

Question: Who knows anything about vitamin D3 supplements while breastfeeding?
I am contemplating not vaccinating my child and D3 is very good for your immune system.

Answers:

If you decide to go that route then you may want to have your blood levels tested. Consider the following recommendation from one of the experts in the field: "Adjust your dosage so that blood levels are between 50–80 ng/mL (or 125–200 nM/L) year-round." [1] Vitamin D is critical for you and your child whichever way you decide to go. [2] You want to insure that you have enough vitamin D in your body so that you can pass it on to your child. If you are not getting enough then both you and your child may be at risk. Chances are that consuming 400 or even 1000 iu of vitamin D will not be enough for both you and your child. That is why it is important to have your blood levels tested. Ask for a (25(OH)D blood test) so that you can make a properly informed decision.

You may want to consider adding some other supplements to help you maintain optimal immune function. Vitamin C, garlic, grapefruit seed extract, and oil of oregano are all potent immune system boosters. They also have various anti-viral/anti-bacterial properties that you may need. [3,4,5]

Of course you must weigh the benefits and risks of vaccination so I have provided some additional links that may help in your research.

Your logic simply doesn't compute. D3 won't help your child's body recognize the pathogen responsible for whooping cough.

There are two reasons for the population explosion after the second world war - antibiotics and vaccines.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Yes, most people need to supplement with vitamin D3, and especially women who are breastfeeding. Vitamin D3 does go into breast milk and it will help your baby.
