Serious question: What chemicals do herb growers put on their plants before they sell them usually?
For example, pesticides & hebicides & genetic modification is used to grow produce, then MSG & other additives are used to make the food good & give it shelf life, do most herb growers use any chemicals in growing n selling their plants?
Have you heard the term "Don't panic, it's organic"
Well, is it really? I mean, in the 60s or somthin, they discovered that the herbs from mexico were being sprayed with paraquat by the US gov'ment, which causes respritory & other damage. Who knows what theyre spraying on it now...what about private growers?
I'm sure they also use fertilizers & pesticides & the such.

If you grow herbs or are educated on the matter, please educate me :) thanks

PS. i'm not trying to GROW anything, i'm just trying to see what it is i am putting into my lungs each day.
PSS. I have my med card, but even medical herbs come from private growers, since the gov'ment does not grow herb ( i dont ThinK)

Thankkksss
Peace yo

Best to grow your own. If you are paranoid about people seeing you do this, do what my Cuban friend did to escape from jail. It is a form of voodoo. He covered himself with mayonnaise and just walked out.

If by herb you mean weed look up hydroponic gardening supplies.
"Organic" weed is chock full of crap I wouldn't want to breathe in....

I've grown orchids hydroponically in those same chemicals

Many growers who claim they grow organic just use organic soil and nutrients; bat guano, worm castings, kelp, bone meal ect. Ideally they would use a safe, organic pesticide like sns 207, or neem oil as well if they had a bug problem. More likely they would use a toxin like pyrethrum. It depends on the integrity of the grower...One who has a clue would not put harmful chemicals into the plant and knows to never use synthetic nutrients heavy in salts and urea. A good grower will never spray his flowers with anything harmful and just use the best organic nutrients and additives. During the last week or two of flowering a proper flush with pure water removes all the nutrients and minerals from the plant so that only plant material and water remains. When dried and cured properly there is no need for additives to extend the shelf life and the herb can store for long periods in it's natural state sealed in glass jars. It actually cures even further and gets better with age.

Most growers I have met have just as much concern about the consuming of harmful chemicals as anyone who is conscious about what they put into their body. They don't use anything harmful or add poisonous chemicals to their crop. I would hope people catering to the med scene would do the same. The only way to be sure is to grow your own that way you know everything that goes into the plant.

Most of the marijuana in America is grown in America, indoors without any pesticides. The only chemical is if someone keeps fertilizing the plant during it's flowering cycle, but most grower know better. So really no chemicals at all. Private growers are the best, as they pride themselves in producing organic pure marijuana. If the government grew pot, they would put chemicals to make THC work more rapidly and more addictive, like they did with tobacco. Nothing helps the quality and safety of marijuana more than private American growers.
