Citalopram and psychosis?!

Question: Citalopram and psychosis?
I feel like I'm losing it. I don't feel normal and I don't feel good. My parents said that Citalopram is helping my attitude and it seems like I've become a better person since taking it, but on the inside I feel like I'm losing my mind and I feel more depressed and crazy, what should I do? Should I take different medication? What kind?
When I wasn't taking any medication I felt perfectly fine but my attitude seemed terrible, I just want to be normal

I'm sorry that you're having such difficulty. That medication is apparently Celexa which is an ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant. An ssri is supposed to help the serotonin, a neurotransmitter which helps the nerve cells to "talk" to each other, to "reuptake" at the proper time. The medication is approved for those with major depression but is also prescribed in people with anxiety, panic disorder and ocd (obsessive-compulsive disorder). The drug may take 6-8 weeks before feeling the full effect. ** Please report any side effects to your doctor. (Please also do NOT stop taking a medication unless directed to do so by your physician.) Hopefully, you're seeing a psychiatrist to monitor your progress or issues while taking the medication.
