Jim Bob is bucked off his mule and lands on the left side of his head. He recovers from his injury with the exception of the following symptoms. Ptosis of the left eyelid, dilation of the left pupil, loss of near vision in the left eye, cannot move eyeball downward and outward. Which of Jim bob's cranial nerves is likely damaged?

I'd say cranial nerve III, the oculomotor nerve. This nerve helps the eye perform most eye movements (not all) and also controls the muscle known as the sphincter pupillae, a muscle involved in constriction of the pupil. If damaged, the eye would dilate.
