keep a neckscarf on all the time and keep your throat warm. A rice bag you warm in the microwave, don't burn your throat, but put it on your throat and breathe the steam. Peppermint oil, if you have some a little under your nose will help clear your sinuses. you can try to sweat it out , by drinking just a shot of alcohol with some honey, cover with a whole bunch of blankets until you get so hot you can't stand it anymore, then throw the blankets off...don't do this when taking sleeping medication. Tell it you know it is just a pain body, and because you know this is has to go away, from Edkhard Tolles book, A New Earth, it has worked amazingly for pain, might work, worth a try.
There is no cure for the common cold. The best you can do is manage the symptoms - over the counter cold and flu medication from a pharmacy are by far the most effective way to do this. Try nasal irrigation for the congestion - saline spray, neti pot or similar. Echinacea, vitamin C, elderberry will do nothing. Keep your fluids up and get some good rest.
If you take nothing for a cold it will go away in 1-2 weeks. If you take something it will go away in 7-14 days.
