I keep clenching my backneck muscles?!

Question: I keep clenching my backneck muscles?
My neck is really stiff and I can't fell anything, so I keep trying to clench the muscles in the back of my neck to feel something but I think it's making it worse. It's really putting my on edge and irritating me.

Is there something I go do right now to stop and regain some sort of normality?

Answers:

There are various possible causes of your problem. The first thing is to recognize that you may have a neuromuscular problem which may be causing pinched nerves and pain. Secondly, you need to check the pillow you are sleeping on as well. A third problem could possibly be clenching at night due to stress and anxiety. I would recommend the following: see a chiropractor, physical therapist, or massage therapist. Also, visit your dentist for an evaluation for your bite which may be adding spasm to the neck muscles. In addition to treating the physical level, you must treat the energy field where all physical problems begin.
