Is there any other cure of slip disc other than surgery?!

Question: Is there any other cure of slip disc other than surgery?
my friend who is 20 has been diagnosed with slip dics in her lower back. she has been asked by the doctor to be very careful, not to bend much and stuff like that. the doctor also said that she will have to go through a surgery. my question is, is it possible to get slip disc at such an early age? also, is there any other alternative other than surgery.?
any advice will be appreciated. thank you

on 2 separate occasions I had a "slipped disc" (forget proper nomenclature) both times I was treated by chiropractic and was able to return to work after time. I rarely have any back pain. my wife was operated on some years back and has pain every day although we use an ointment to ease it. I used chiropractic for the 27 years I was hanging sheetrock and believe it was instrumental for my back health.

The discs are made from a tough, fibrous case, which contains a softer, gel-like substance. A slipped disc occurs when the outer part of the disc ruptures (splits), allowing the gel inside to bulge and protrude outwards between the vertebrae.
The damaged disc can put pressure on the whole spinal cord or on a single nerve fibre. This means that a slipped disc can cause pain both in the area of the protruding disc and in any part of the body that is controlled by the nerve that the disc is pressing on.
Slipped discs are most common in people between the ages of 30 and 50. The condition affects twice as many men as women.
A slipped disc occurs most frequently in the lower back, but any disc can rupture, including those in the upper back and neck. Around one-third of adults in the UK have lower back pain, and a slipped disc is responsible in less than 1 in 20 cases.
It can take around four to six weeks to recover from a slipped disc. In most cases, treatment involves a combination of physical therapy, such as exercise and massage, and medication to relieve the pain.
In severe cases, or if the pain continues for longer than six weeks, surgery may be considered. A number of different procedures can release the compressed nerve and remove part of the disc. The success rate for surgery on the lumber (lower) spine is around 60-90%.

Does your friend have insurance? Surgery of this nature is very expensive and that's why people use alternatives. Usually with great results, thereby; becoming life long advocates, not only: setting them on a path to find out for themselves what is out there and what works; sometimes going on to help others and save them from intrusive and traumatic surgeries.

Yes, 20 yrs old is awful young to experience this type of condition. Sometimes, it is a result of nutritional deficiencies that can be replenished with the right products. Our water, should supply trace minerals that are often missing as a result of chemicals and bad bacteria just to mention a few. (I heard a story of ROCKET FUEL, yeah rocket fuel, in the water somewhere in Florida.) Can you imagine! Reports of people being able to light their water on fire coming right out of the faucet! The younger generation is our only hope. (Always has been!)

If you, or your friend will take the initiative to find out what works for her; the two of you may go on to a life long journey of expanding your knowledge and influencing the health of your generation. Oh I would so like to see it! and have.

Personally i have always wondered why, if a product is so good, we don't know about it or hear about it. The answer is, if a company is not publicly traded, the "powers that be", in the advertisement industry will not endorse or promote. When you go public, the rules change. So, better this way, for the company and you. Thanks for asking.
