No it isn't. And it is a scientific fact, that the physical characteristics of the stones that these healing powers are attributed to, are non existent.

no, there is no mechanism by which the body can respond to the presence of a gem stone, nor is there anything emitted by a gem stone for the body to detect, nor anything emitted by the gem stone to effect the body, its just a bunch of prescientific thinking.

and tink is sadly misinformed about how the medical community views the placebo effect, all approved medical treatments must perform BETTER than the placebo effect which he is referring to.

Nope. Not so far. Mostly because no one would invest money in this type of a study. Just because studies don't exist, doesn't mean that this might not be the case. A true sceptic is open to possibilities and doesn't pound the pulpit of "scientific evidence". That's SCIENTISM. Big difference.

No!!!!! There are many risks associated with alternative medicine (although gem stones are probably the most harmless unless belief in them stops you from getting proper medical attention).

I heard a physicist on the Discovery Channel once say that a slice of American Cheese has more energy in it than a crystal.

The Discovery Channel.

No - and yet, it IS scientifically proven that the expectation they produce can have healing powers.

Be well
Tink

Edit: No, I'm afraid I am not mistaken.

No they don't and no there isn't scientific evidence. I once met a guy who thought they did. Within the next couple of weeks, he told me he was Jesus Christ in a past lifetime.

No it is not.

Nothing says "I love you" like an over-priced piece of crystallised carbon dug out of the ground by African slave labour.

It is scientifically prove that there is a sucker born every minute.

it's rock. What do you think? No, they do nothing. I have heard however that a big diamond can soften a female heart.

mood stones do - it's not scientific it's the psychological factor.

I don't see how a rock can have healing powers >.> it's just a load of compacted molecules
