How can i treat my vertigo?!

I have vertigo right now, it came on early tonight. I usually get it when i havnt had enough water to drink or if ive been sick and ive just had a cold. My Doc said i shouldnt take medicine for it because it will react with a medicine im already taking. So im kind of just stuck with it for the few days it sticks around for. Are there any simple ways of dealing with it at home by myself??
