Is my immune system dead?!

Question: Is my immune system dead?
Hi.. I've been extremely prone to illnesses and diseases all my life. I don't even have to be near anyone who is sick to have strep throat (which I currently have now). I have had various infections throughout my life, and I have a bad skin problem. I try everything to get rid of it, pills, healthy diet, exercise, dermatologist prescribed facial and body washes, but it has never seemed to go away. My skin problems started when I was 8. I was diagnosed with mono (the kissing disease) this past summer. I don't share drinks, and I've never kissed anyone in my life (I'm 13)... I'm kind of a germ-aphobia kind of person. I had a non-cancerous sist in my cheek about 2 years ago, and had to get surgery to get it removed.
Is my immune system dead? I've never had an x-ray before, or any type or radio activity tests done on me, considering that it kills the immune system...
But why is mine so low? I'm always jealous of my perfect skinned friends, who have perfect bodies and complexions.

P.S.- I don't care about the "earthly and humble" answers that keep saying stuff about how I need to appreciate the body I am in, or how I should love the way I look. I don't.

You need 2 things: patience and good nutrition. Your immune system is down but not dead bec. if it was dead you would be dead. Anyway, what I recommend is this: Don't take any prescription drugs unless absolutely necessary and start eating plenty of yogurt--yogurt is loaded with good bacteria which are needed especially after having taken antibiotics. If you cannot stand the taste of yogurt get you a multi strain probiotic-and make sure that they are encased to withstand the stomach acids. Some of the bacteria in yogurt are strong enough to survive the stomach acids but with probiotics you have to watch out for that.
Then get you some phytoplankton(UMAC). It is not expensive but works well too. The first thing that happened to me was that my skin started to recover(I had eczema). By now I can say that it has boosted my immune system like nothing else---I take it since last June and I did not get sick with a cold, flu, or whatever once. Everyone around me got the sniffs and the coughs and I just won't get sick. Another thing you can add to this is elderberry--that is also one powerful immune booster.

Remember: if you are put on antibiotics then it is wise to take the probiotics as many hours apart as possible---antibiotics do not only kill the bad bacteria, they also kill the good ones. So if you have to take 1 3 times a day it is best to wait until you finished them and then start on probiotics. If you takie 1 2 times a day you can take the probiotic in between. It works, but it takes a little time. With the phytoplankton you might be able to see results in your skin within days.

Lastly, what you also might consider is a good cleansing of your digestive system to get rid of old waste. I find that eating a 24 oz cup of Activia yogurt will do that--it will make you run all day and if you can do that for 7 days you pretty much cleaned up!!! If starting that it would be best to start on the weekend so that the stomach has time to calm down a little.

There are numerous kinds of genetic disorders that result in a compromised immune system. If you had any of the major or severe ones you would have been diagnosed or dead by now.

Realistically, you are probably fine.

There are some obscure immune disorders that are hard to diagnose and often relatively harmless, but you don't have the symptoms of any of the more common ones.

If you're immunocompromised, some doctor probably would have figured it out by now. Sickness happens - strep, mono, acne, urinary tract infections, flu, whatever, people get them all the time. You're probably not nearly as special as you think you are, and your "perfect" friends probably have just as many problems as you do except that they're better at hiding theirs.

If ur immune system was dead u would be too

Hello there. What you're experiencing does not mean you have a dead or weak immune system. The immune system works this way: 1. You get exposed to a virus/ bacteria, 2. you get sick, 3. the immune system starts producing antibodies to fight the infection 4. infection gets cleared and you are immune from future infections from that specific bug

You're 13 years old and in school and exposed to a lot of germs. It's normal for you to get sick. Many teenagers get skin problems and they'll go away as you grow older.

So to repeat, getting sick is not a sign of a weak immune system. Not getting better is.
