Simply-- What is happening to the nhs and primary care trust?!

Primary Care Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities...they are being scrapped by the government..
This means that doctors will received money for hospital referrals instead and will pay hospitals directly ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/health… ). It looks to include dentists too ( http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/ne… ).

...not sure how they think 'competition' will work because most people will still choose to go to the surgery on their doorstep....which i assumed was the only option open to them previously (catchment area). Will GPs be reluctant to take patients form further afield or is that not an option for them? You may need a few more links to get the gist of it.
