Question: I tried to cure my sore throat why did this happen...?
juice of half a lemon, a few spoons of honey, in an oversized mug an filled it half way with hot water mixed it an filled the rest with cold water
so it wasn't hot or anything just warm
an like a few hours later one of my tonsils has just inflated! (the other one seems ok) it's killing, i can hardly talk what the? I don't know what to do now, coughing is so painful...

The real cause of the sore throat was the problem with the tonsils in the first place. Try gargling with some grapefruit seed extract. Tonsil inflammation is self limiting. You can avoid having them removed through Homeopathic treatment. You won't have any more tonsil flare-ups and save yourself some painful nuisance surgery. It's also a lot gentler and cheaper.
The acid in the lemon is irritating your tonsils. Gargle with salt water 4-5 times a day. And start taking antibiotics like penicillin or cephaflexin (keflex). Your most likely have strep throat. No big deal, its probably the weather. salt water and antibiotics will get rid of it in 2-3 days if not sooner :)

Eliminate the honey totally.
Drink warm hot water with lemon only when you are thirsty.
Gargle with warm salt water for now.
Avoid salty foods and junk foods.
Eat only vegetables and fruits for the next couple of days.
Avoid cold foods and liquids.
Its been 5 days now. Still not gone? What were you doing till now - breathing?
For a quick relief:
Take dome really hot black coffee and sip it in a way it hits the tonsils - little by little. Soon... quick... quit YA and run to your kitchen. Noww.

Obviously your body is fighting off an infection or something. Lemon honey tea is not a cure, just soothing relief for sore throat. It's time to see a doctor!
well i would of suggested medicine. but since you can hardly talk, i would suggest you go to the doctors.
you have an infection. it won,t be cured by home remedies.
