Tonsils are made of soft glandular tissue and are part of the immune system. You have two tonsils, one on either side at the back of the mouth. Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils. A sore throat is the common symptom. In addition, you may also have a cough, fever, headache, feel sick, feel tired, find swallowing painful, and have swollen neck glands.
As you ask your question in Alternate Medicine section so there is alternate way to treat the tonsillitis.
Gargle with warm salty water at least 4-5 times a day. It'll help.
Avoid all cold, frozen and spicy food.

It'll help.

Tonsillitis is the swelling of your tonsils, and you'll probably be able to see them (big bumps on the sides of your throat) if you open your mouth and look in the mirror, if indeed you have tonsillitis. If you feel that your throat is rapidly swelling and closing off your windpipe, you may be experiencing an allergic reaction.
Tonsillitis is also usually a name given to repeated sore throat infections, so if you've never before had a throat infection, you probably don't have tonsilitis.

Tonsillitis is any condition affecting the tonsils. With swelling and yucky stuff.

Inflammation of the tonsils. Mostly commonly caused by a viral or bacterial infection. You should see a doctor if you're having difficulty breathing.

It is more than a regular sore throat; it is an actual infection of the tonsils.

Tonsill = tonsils

Itis= inflammation
