Placebo and sleeping pills?!
Question: Placebo and sleeping pills?
Seroquel: Non-Narcotic
Ambien: Narcotic
Things like that. I want to have a list for my doctor of different sleeping pills, then ask him which one might cause the least amount of sexual problems. Thank You!

A placebo is like a sugar pill, they have no medicine. They are used for instance when testing a new drug in clinical trials so that they can test for accuracy and a person doesn't have perceived results because they think they are receiving medicine. In a clinical trial, some patients receive the medicine and some people receive the placebo, no one know what they are getting.
As for your sleeping problem, if you simply go in and see your doctor he can tell you what he thinks will work best considering your concern with sexual function and other medicines you take. There are different types of sleeping problems, trouble falling asleep or trouble staying asleep. Ambien is a non-narcotic and helps you fall asleep but only lasts about 3 hours so doesn't work well if you have trouble staying asleep. Sleeping pills are almost always non-narcotic. In fact, I can't think of one that is a narcotic and specifically prescribed for sleeping problems. Try Unisom until you can go to the doctor. It should help and has absolutely no sexual side effects.
