Chronic Constipation?!

Question: Chronic Constipation?
So i need some help. I have CHRONIC CONSTIPATION(im always constipated no matter what i eat). i've been checked out by doctors and all they can tell me is to take stool softeners or laxatives. Here lies the problem: i CANNOT swallow pills, at all! i've tried stool softeners, laxatives, enemas and even suppository's and none of them work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and please don't say pills because ive tried for years and i still cant swallow them.
Thanks.=)

Perhaps you could try binging on prunes, oranges, mandarins or any other fruit as all fruit in very large amounts is laxative.

Part of your problem is you doctors are treating the symptoms and not looking for the cause of the constipation. Not all doctors are smart. The use of oral laxatives leads to the body needing more laxatives in order to produce the peristaltic contractions. The use of enemas can lead to a psychological dependence as you may look forward to the stimulation of the nerve endings in and around the anus.

Constipation is a symptom not a disease. In many cases it can be treated by change in diet (increasing fiber and water intake), increasing your exercise level (exercise helps stimulate bowel contractions) and taking probiotics to restore the bacteria in the colon that the laxatives and enemas destroyed.

You may want to take the Activia 14 day challenge. If it doesn't help they will refund your money. I have heard many people swear by this.

The study, published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology, indicates that a clinical trial including 50 medical centers and 304 patients has confirmed that polyethylene (PEG) laxative is safe for patients suffering from chronic constipation, even elderly patients can use the drug safely for up to six months.
Also some other tips :Eat 3-4 apples a day , fruits, vegetables, and fiber in the diet each day
make sure drink enough fluids. Adults should drink between 8 and 10 glasses of water, nonaffiliated beverages, or fruit juice each day.

Have you have a colonoscopy? If you have a serious bowel problem, it best to not leave it unaddressed medically. Getting a colonoscopy, upper and lower GI will at least rule out more serious things that diet.

The saying you are what you eat plays a large part on the excretory process. Fruit does tend to help with "getting things moving", if you tend to not eat fruit or veggies that could be a problem.

One thing that seems to work invariably is chinese food, they use MSG (monosodium glutamate) as a preservative.. The problem with forcing it with laxatives and such is the rebound effect. if you get things moving then stop the stoppage is worse next time.

I agree with the other post recommending a colonoscopy. Additionally try an herbal cleanse such as RenewLife CleanseSMART. This is an all natural product and will definitely help you go to the bathroom and maybe kick start your digestion going forward. Drink lots of water, try flaxseed as a supplement, include probiotics from a health food store.
You can also rub your lower abdomen, use accupressure on yourself or have a friend/spouse do it for you (http://www.puristat.com/reflexology/defa…
Talk to your doctor about prescriptions for chronic constipation.

Try this:
Eat one 24 oz. cup of Activia yogurt and top that with a 12 oz. glass of prune juice---That will send you flying.....
