I have clubbed fingernails, is that a serious problem? Are they treatable?!

Question: I have clubbed fingernails, is that a serious problem? Are they treatable?
I have clubbed fingernails and I always knew they were different but I never knew what the were exactly. I learned that I have clubbed fingernails and I've had it ever since I was a child and my mother has them. There is no swelling or pain.

I was wondering is this a serious problem? And is there a way to make them normal?

Finger clubbing can be a sign of lung pathology or cardiovascular venous return insufficiency.
However for some people who have this condition nothing is wrong & its normal for them

Clubbing occurs when the tips of your fingers enlarge and your nails curve around your fingertips. This condition results from low oxygen levels in your blood and could be a sign of lung disease. Clubbing is also associated with inflammatory bowel disease, cardiovascular disease and liver disease.

In some cases, as is most likely the case with you, clubbing probably has no association with an underlying disease as you have a family history of clubbed nails, and so it is hereditary. It is just something that is in your genetics.
