Tink is right, and some of them, like isopropyl alcohol are toxic enough to kill you, so try not to do that

Alcohol is a reference to the shape of the molecule, and has nothing to do with the ability to get you drunk - both of those are fatty acid alcohols, and while you 'could' put anything you like in your mouth and swallow it, I wouldn't suggest it - it will only give you gastrointestinal upset.
