GERD! Is there any home remedies or anything....else that I can use to cure this!

Question: GERD! Is there any home remedies or anything....else that I can use to cure this?
I am 23 years old and I have been suffering from GERD for past 6 months and have tried lots of medicines like Carnozal-D, Nexpro, Pantadoc DSR, Rapeed D etc (As advised by the Gastroenterologist). but the result are not meeting to my expectations.

I have lost 8 kg weight also since I got this disease. I have tried everything like medicines, using two pillows while slipping, wearing lose clothes, eating small meals 5-6 times a day, drinking lots of water and avoiding bed for two hours. But none of these did not work as excepted.

Now I am getting fed of it, having this disease is really a disaster.

At present the symptoms are:
Sometimes I feel like vomit (but it never comes out) when I consume something like food or water and sometimes without consuming anything.
When I eat or drink I got gas in my stomach and that comes out by burping and sometimes little amount of food and water also come out.
When I have gas in my stomach I cant consume anything until that comes out by burping.
Unusual burp.
Does any body know what to do when somebody have GERD

If all the usual medical options and mechanical advice fails there are sometimes surgical options.

The best way to heal GERD is to get to the source of the problem and correct that instead of just treating the symptoms. It could be something in your diet or some medications you're taking that is causing this sudden onset. Take a look into some of these more natural approaches to treating acid reflux and see if they work for you: http://www.healthonabudget.com/Get-Rid-o…

Best of luck!

The best treatment would be to target the cause of your symptoms. There are many possible causes of the symptoms you are describing. Here are a few examples:

1) Hiatal Hernia

2) Celiac Disease

3) Hypochlorhydria (Yes, too little stomach acid!)

4) Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) - this one is almost certain to be present, because acid blocking drugs cause it!

It might be wise to have a thorough evaluation by a nutritionally trained health care professional. Also, a skilled family Chiropractor can assist in reducing a hiatal hernia.

Best wishes and good luck.

Yes, my mother had severe GERD and LPR for 5 years and unfortunately was given nexium for 5 years which caused detrimental side effects. Now she suffers neither GERD or LPR and her gastritis is 90% better (after 25 years!). The answer was amazingly simple - throwing away nexium and gaviscon and taking digestive enzyme supplements to help break down foods and betaine hydrochloride supplements to increase stomach acid. The majority of people who have acid reflux issues have LOW stomach acid. You may need one or both supplements. I recommend reading these links....
