I took ecstasy on saturday night and tuesday morning I had blood drawn, will the!

Question: I took ecstasy on saturday night and tuesday morning I had blood drawn, will the drug show up?
The blood wasn't drawn for a drug test specifically, what happened was I fainted Tuesday morning and my mom got nervous and brought me to the doctors. They did some blood work to see if there is an underlying problem and I think the ecstasy will show up. I would like to keep this information from my mother because I'm young and she doesn't know. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I've linked you to a website, and if you scroll down to the bottom, there's a chart that shows detection periods for various drugs. MDMA is not specifically listed on the chart, but it is an amphetamine, so I imagine the detection period for ecstasy would be about the same as for amphetamine.

Urine drug tests generally test not for the drug itself, but for metabolites of the drugs, and generally drugs can be detected in urine for 3 to 5 days. Detection periods for drugs using a blood test are much shorter, 12 hours in the case of amphetamine. A drug you took two days ago would be unlikely to show up in your blood. Not to mention, that drugs are not generally tested for in routine blood work, unless it is already suspected that your fainting spell was due to drugs, and it does't sound like your parents suspect drug use, so a drug test will probably not be done, but if it is, the MDMA should have cleared your blood system by about 12 hours after you took the drug, and wouldn't show up anyway.

I am not a professional, so I cannot guarantee that this information is accurate, but most information found at Erowid.org is pretty accurate. I won't promise you that the ecstasy won't show up, but given that it is unlikely that they will test for drugs, and even if they do, your bloodstream will probably be free of drugs

Also, you say you are young, so I suppose you are not 18 years old and a legal adult yet, which means that your doctor can share his/her findings with your parents since you are a minor, and there's nothing you can do about that. If you were legally an adult, the doctor legally would have to have a signed release form to share your medical records with anybody, but since you are a minor, you cannot request your medical records be withheld from your parents. But I really think you are going to be fine. Blood testing for drugs is usually only done if you get into trouble, and an officer suspects you are under the influence of a drug. The detection period in blood is so short, it is not practical to use it to test for drugs. A hair or urine test can detect recent use, but for all practical purposes, all a blood test can do is determine if you are on drugs at that very moment. They are generally only used if you are admitted to the hospital for a drug related problem, and they will do a blood test to determine what you took and how much of it you took so that they can treat you accordingly. The police can do a blood test if they suspect you of driving under the influence (of something besides alcohol. For alcohol related things, they use a breathalyzer) or if you commit a crime and they suspect you have consumed illicit drugs

Again, I am not a professional, so I could be a little off, but as far as I know from things I have read, amphetamines like MDMA will only be detectable in blood for 12 hours or so, and drug testing is not part of a standard blood work up, unless it is specifically requested. I think you'll be fine

Ecstasy will not show up in routine blood work and will not in most routine drug screens. The components of a routine drug screen varies, somewhat, by geography - usually reflects what is perceived to be common drugs of abuse in a region. As a general rule, X is not included in the routine version and must be specifically requested. And, to my knowledge, there are no associated aberrations, esp to a single-dose experience, that will manifest in a routine testing. If you are chronic abuser, there may be...however, I must confess, I do not know what those findings would be.

It depends on the blood work that was ordered, Unless the Dr requested a drug test it will not show up on your lab work, I would look and see what the Dr requested. Most of the time the Dr would have checked for ETOH and drugs the day you passed out
