Question: NURSES: if a nurse is abusing prescription meds, can she loose her nursing license?
And what happeneds if she (or someone abusing meds like muscle relaxers and oxycodone) happen if they stop. Will they die from whithdrawl? Any one can answer. I just need to know some details. My boyfriends mom is a nurse who is doing this. Her doctor has no idea she's abusing them. But the pharmacy is noticing. Words of wisdom?

Have a chat with her and suggest she seeks help. if she chooses not to take your advice do nothing, sit back and watch her dig her own grave.



She could if it is an ongoing issue that the hospital has tried to help her overcome, especially if she is stealing the meds. However, drug addiction is now considered to be a disability and the hospital has to offer her opportunities to get help for her addiction before they can fire her.
