If I boil my herbal infusion, will it lose it's benefits?!
Question: If I boil my herbal infusion, will it lose it's benefits?
I'm wanting to make a herbal infusion with Burdock Root, Horsetail, Coltsfoot, Marshmallow, Rosemary, & Slippery Elm. I'm using part of it to create a hair moisturizer, and part of it to create a gel. With making the gel, I have to use flaxseed's, but I also have to boil it in water, which I wanted the water that was going to be boiled along with the flaxseeds to be my herbal infusion. But if I boil the herbal infusion (even though I know I have to boil water in the first place to make the herbal infusion), will it lose all of it's benefits?
SN: These herbs are supposed to help ease detangling, impart shine, condition, strengthen, moisturize, and soften my hair. So would it lose all of these benefits once boiled?

It's mostly the essential oils from the Rosemary that will be lost.

It will probably lessen the effects, boil the flax and water, then steep your infusion.
