Can you mix methadone with diluadid?!

Question: Can you mix methadone with diluadid?
I am prescribed 4mg diluadid every 4-6 hours as needed and also 5mg methadone ever 12 hours. I assume this is safe because it was all prescribed by my doctors, but I am just triple checking. Also I heard methadone "blocks" the effects of opiates so wouldn't the methadone make the diluadid have no effect?

Yes.

Typically people taking long-acting opioids (methadone) for continuous pain relief are also prescribed short-acting medication for break-threw pain (Dilaudid) and it is safe as long as the medication is taken exactly as prescribed and both can be taken at the same time if you absolutely must.

Methadone, in high doses, can reduce the euphoric effects of other opioids like Heroin. It does not really "block" the effects since methadone is a full opioid agonist. However you are only taking 10 mg/day, a low dose. It won't negate any effects of the Dilaudid (hydromorphone).

Its fine. Especially if the doctors gave it to u. Just dont take them together. Example: i had to give my mom methadone at 9am then gave her dilaudid 2 hours later.
