I smoke pot, is this wrong?!

Question: I smoke pot, is this wrong?
I don't even use it to get high (Technically) , you see, I'm on dialysis and have been for about 3 years. After dialysis, I feel sick and nauseous and no appetite. When I smoke, all these symptoms go away. I'm 26 years old, and I shouldn't be this sick (I was born with kidney disease) Is it wrong that I use this to cure all my symptoms ? Cure is a strong word, take a break is better way of describing it.

No, it isn't.
And I drink water, is this wrong?

Man honestly this is what pot is for that's why we have medical weed because it helps people. Don't let anyone tell you that it's wrong it's helping you get through the pain and there is nothing wrong about that. Watch the union it will clear up and doubts you have about smoking weed. There is a man with very serious medical issues who is interviewed and he would fully support what you are doing. As do i and many others who smoke pot to help ease that pain.

The union the business behind getting high
Watch it!

No. Nothing is wrong with marijuana, it is a better medicine than most pharmaceuticals you could get your hands on. Many of the facts about marijuana making people so against it are total myths. Whether you find it wrong or not is your decision, but I'd recommend researching marijuana from legitimate sites and than making the decision for yourself.

my brain

Everybody's opinion of wrong is different. If you truly have a medical condition that is dibilitating and causes great pain, then I think it is a valid reason to smoke marijuana. Just keep in mind the number of people who abuse this drugs. It's sad.

If anybody, and I mean ANYBODY ever tells you that smoking pot to alleviate your symptoms is wrong you look them right in the eye and ask them if they'd like to trade places with you for a day and see how they feel about it then.

Are you smoking marijuana legally in a state that issues marijuana permits? If not that it is legally wrong. As for morals it depends who you ask.

Out of all the ways marijuana is used, proper self medication is by far the most justifiable. In this situation, I personally feel that smoking pot is not wrong.

If I smoke just to chill out every now and then, then you should smoke to deal with kidney disease. Weed is just a plant. I don't think its a moral issue.

Wrong is an opinion. Say to yourself "Weed is bad?" and enjoy the symptoms disappearing.

Not at all, brother. THC is just another drug. One that doesn't have nearly as much negative side effects as many prescription medications. In California you could get a medical card. Sorry about your illness.

I don't think so until you find a different alternative that naturally works for you :)

nope not for medicinal purposes.. if it makes your life better while not hurting people around you its all good i think

Is drinking a cup of coffee bad?

no

nah not really.
sry about ur health problems =/

I feel there are some medicinal benefits of marijuana, but like any drug, it has to be controlled in its distribution, can be abused, and you should be cautious about what you are going to do while you use it (driving, etc).

The only time its wrong is when its abused, or if someone who doesn't have a medical need for it is smoking it. People like to get high, that's well documented, and there are an endless number of ways to do it. However, these kinds of users end up buying the drugs illegally, supporting drug lords and drug wars (look at Mexico right now), and cause other problems. People who are high are not very productive or useful people, and often have personal issues that are not being helped in any way by getting high.

Most people I know who use pot illegally use it as an escape, and running away from issues doesn't solve anything, causes added problems, and is just pure laziness. I don't put you in that category. I just say these things for those who support legalized pot. Pot is in the same category as alcohol, only pot is stronger, and not as sociable (smokers tend to hang with only other smokers), and usually end up embarrassing themselves.

I don't believe consuming pot in general is wrong at all. It's much safer than alcohol. It doesn't kill braincells, it doesn't cause cancer (hasn't even been proven to cause lung cancer), it has countless medicinal benefits. Of course, too much of anything is bad, and there can be negative effects with long term heavy use. It can lower lung capacity, but you can either cook it into food or vaporize it is smoking it concerns you too much. I believe the 1rst recorded medicinal use was 5000 years ago.

On top of that, it's safer than at least most medications you'll ever take. There has NEVER been a recorded death due to weed alone, and most of the "statistics" and "facts" said by BS programs like DARE are twisted, half-truth or just plain BS (It DOESN'T kill braincells - in fact, a study suggested that it actually stimulate the growth of new ones.)

Generally, people who are against weed are uneducated, don't ask questions and ignorant.

EDIT:
@ TAG
People drink booze all the time, how is that any different than getting high? I know you didn't mention alcohol, but booze has been proven to be much more harmful and addicting than weed, and I'm guessing you've drank a couple times.

Some people abuse substances to "run away" from their problems, but it's their way of copping. Depending on the person and the strain of pot, it's been shown to help people with depression. People get high for pleasure, and honestly I see nothing wrong with it. People drink for fun and have sex because it feels good. As long as it isn't done in excess, there isn't an issue. We only live once. If addicted, it becomes a problem, and it drives me nuts when people belittle addicts - they should be understood, helped, and people need to remember that it is a disease. Addiction runs thick in my family - and not just in substance - gambling, gaming, shoplifting, violence - and I make sure to be careful with myself. My grandpa is an alcoholic - life full of regrets. He could never hurt a fly - sweetest man I've ever met. I don't judge him for his alcoholism, but try to help him cope. My cousin was a heroin addict - fell into it after her step dad started raping and abusing her. She kicked it for now, but she's burried by demons that may never go away. Weed is classed as Psychologically addictive, not physically addictive.

Drug users, believe it or not, are not the ones supporting the drug lords - the LAWS are. Think back to the 1920s - during the prohibition of alcohol. The intention was noble; lower violence, addiction, deaths etc. Despite prohibition, kids had easier access, there was more drinking, violence, addiction, alcohol was of poorer quality, it opened a huge door to the black market and created a ton of gang violence (think Al Capone). Criminals made a ton of profit. People realized that the laws were pointless and the government could be making profit instead of criminals.

Same thing is seen with drug laws. Dealer's will sell to a 9 year old - they just want to make a quick buck. If it was controlled like alcohol, legal sellers couldn't. Many teens (Including myself in HS) actually think pot is easier to get than booze. Dealers sell to students, and those students realize they can make a quick buck selling to other students.

If legalized, people would buy their weed off of legal sellers because they'd rather that than go to dealers, making dealers go out of business and bringing in tons of much needed money to the economy (Cannabis has been described as America's top cash crop)

Before marijuana was made illegal in the 1930s, you didn't see the problems with it like today. (It was NOT made illegal for health reasons, but because of yellow journalism, industrial interests, plain out lies, racism (they'd say it would make black men step on white men shadows) - it was nicknamed "marijuana" to keep "hemp" and "cannabis" out of headlines, and make people associate it with Mexicans)

Have you even smoked weed? Or at least observed people who smoke weed? Doesn't sounds like it. Just cause a person smokes weed doesn't mean they only hang with stoners - people simply hang out with people of simular interests. For instance, I'm more of an artistic and creative person and most of my fellow artistic buddies smoke weed. Non-smokers might also be ignorant about weed and not want to associate (I have a friend who, after finding out half her family smoked weed, completely shut them out of her life).

Also, pot doesn't make you lazy. A lot of my school's overachievers were huge potheads. Usually, the unmotivated, lazy, stupid stoners were that way before smoking. Look up some of the most successful people, and they've prollly smoked pot. Bill Gates, Obama, Stephen King, Johnny Depp, Bealtes, Picasso, Al Gore, Michael Phelps, Jack Black, Conan O'Brien, Marilyn Monroe, Queen Victoria, and the list goes on and on and on.

Pot smokers vary from family, friends, doctors, lawyers, teachers and even politicians.

There are stupid weed smokers, just as there are stupid drinkers, stupid shoppers, stupid everything. However, society shouldn't be penalized and not allowed to consume something as safe as weed because a couple people are irresponsible. The government shouldn't be telling us what we can and can't consume.

Prohibition doesn't work.

As Albert Einstein once said;
"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."

Don't think your mightier than people who use certain substances, whether medicinally or not - no one is perfect, and it just shows your ignorance.
