Can Chromium really be used to treat depression?!

Question: Can Chromium really be used to treat depression?
I was watching a late night talk show, and a psychologist appeared and claimed that some of his patients tried chromium and they felt totally renewed. Does chromium really work to treat depression? if not, how does it help in anyway?

Answers:

No controlled studies to indicate that it is of any use.

GP for more years than I care to remember

Chromium may indirectly help mood through regulating blood sugar, but the effects would probably be very subtle. Some supplements you can take that might be better at helping to reduce depression are St. John's Wort, Valerian Root, Ginseng, and Kava Kava, among others.

No it and can not, but it can only be used for diabetes and weight loss. The body needs chromium for normal growth and health, there is not enough evidence to show that taking chromium supplements improve the way your body use sugar and differently not to treat depression.

chromium helps in blood sugar control its been well documented that those suffering from depression and anxiety have poor glucose control i.e diabetes or hypoglycemia(low blood sugar) google hypoglycemia and you may find answers

It can be used, just not successfully.

B-complex vitamins/ Vitamin-D with Calcium should help.
