Sore throat and feeling poorly, anybody know why?!!?!

Question: Sore throat and feeling poorly, anybody know why?!!?
I have had enlarged glands in the front of my neck and a sore throat for 10 days now. a week ago i noticed white spots appearing on my toncils which have got worse, they have also become swollen and red. its very sore to eat or even drink a glass of water. ive become very tired these past few days and can sleep for hours and hours and then i get up and force myself to eat something and drink a glass of water before crashing out again. i feel quite squeemish at the thought of food and although i feel hungry in my stomach, i cant bring myself to want to eat food. i usually love my food but not the past few days. last night i also had a very sore head and ears and woke with a runny nose today. i took paracetamol before i went to bed again last night which helped the head alot. im not one for taking alot of pills but its been going on to long now and i dont know - could this be viral (in which case i will just have to sit it out) or is it bacterial, and in that case, which antibiotics would be useful?! Btw, I am only 19 and at college, so being tired so much is making me fall behind so i need to get better soon.

Answers:

See a doctor- 10 days is too long to wait for it to pass. Drink warm fluids, maybe some tea with honey to coat your throat. If you can use a hot water bottle on your neck and head, do so- you'll feel a lot of relief. Also, Ibuprofen or Motrin (Advil) will take down the swelling and pain in your throat better than Paracetamol. I don't usually advocate meds, but i think you can judge for yourself.

PS_ Sounds like strep.
