Strep throat/ mixing antibiotics and homepathic medications is this safe? Want t!

Question: Strep throat/ mixing antibiotics and homepathic medications is this safe? Want to add colloidial silver?
Alright I was diagnosed with strep throat on Tuesday, I was prescribed an antibiotic I began taking it. On Wednesday I read about Belladonna and Phytolacca Decandra which were supposed to be great homeopathic remedies and alternatives to antibiotics, so I began taking those as well. As of today I am on my antibiotic, belladonna, and Phytolacca Decandra and I wanted to start a collodial silver throat rinses. Should I? Will this help the antibiotic?

And Im trying to get better or at least greatly reduce my symptoms by Friday (tommorrow) I am hosting a party and already had people fly in and made several deposits. The party will go on... I just want to make it through my party any suggestions?

Is mixing antibiotics with homeopathic remedies effective and safe?

Should I include Collodial Silver rinses?

Any Suggestions for reducing my symtoms (other than salt gargles)?

PS: im on ibuprofin 800

Homeopathy contains no active ingredients, - it cannot have any effect. CS has no effect in vivo. Both are bunk.

If you are otherwise healthy, strep throat will resolve without antibiotics in the vast majority of cases. Antibiotics are only really prescribed if the infection is very severe or fails to improve and has persisted for longer then 5 days. Prolonged infections increase the risk of rheumatic fever. Antibiotics reduce this complication, but RF is rare in western societies.

If your Doctor has told you that you need antibiotics, then take the ones he has prescribed. There are no alternatives.

Difflam or Chloraseptic throat sprays might help any local discomfort. And continue with the NSAID.

And salt water won't do anything. There is no evidence base for such gargles.

@ Nosey: No one is really interested in hearing from you until you substantiate your claims with valid evidence. Attacking the skeptics as a diversionary tactic, does not fly.

It's hard to determine if something is a scam/quackery or not - here's a rule of thumb: your doctor did not mention homeopathy or colloidal silver, right?

Homeopathy is a PLACEBO treatment, colloidal silver has not been substantiated to work for any condition and since silver is a heavy metal it is extremely risky. In fact it is illegal in the US and other countries to market colloidal silver making ANY health claims.

Alternative medicine is a minefield of scams, fraud and quackery - AVOID.

You're already doing fine with the antibiotics. There's really no need at all to waste time and effort on homeopathy (which does not work) and colloidal silver (which also does not work). The best thing to do is to keep taking your medicine, and get plenty of rest, fluids and good food.

Belladonna is a very potent and dangerous anticholinergic/deliriant. It causes bowel discomfort, tachycardia, difficulty breathing, and hallucinations of spiders crawling out of the walls.

However, homeopathic medicine doesn't actually contain any active ingredient. It's a placebo.

There is no scientific proof that colloidal silver rinses are effective against bacteria in strep and it is not approved by the FDA for such treatments...i recommend salt water gargle and the prescribed antibiotics.

Homeopathy is bogus. It's a scam to make money.
Colloidal silver is worthless. It's a scam to make money.

Antibiotics will work. None of those are going to help.

You will be fine if you are on antibiotics, ibuprofen is a pain killer and fever reducer not an antibiotic.. Sadly Homeopathic remedies don't work. I have tried them and so have my family

sounds good

Ibuprofen is not an antibiotic - I' m sure you realise that but the way you word things it suggests that it is. Anyway, its a pain killer and anti-inflammatory.
Back to main question. Since homeopathic medications contain almost nothing at all - the active ingredients are diluted so much that you might find one or two molecules in a dose, on a good day. So they will not interfere with antibiotics. Colloidal silver is another matter - its never been proven to work and there is the risk of Argyria, or silver poisoning.
If I were you I would stick with antibiotics, some homeopathic if you will, and some painkillers. You might be reduced to alcohol and sign language by the end of the party but then lots of parties end up that way.

Homeopathy stimulates your body to heal itself, so there would be no need for antibiotics, esp. if you don't have some life-threatening infection. But you need to learn a lot more about how to use it and how to choose remedies effectively. When you mix all sorts of different modalities together you have absolutely no way of knowing what is doing what.
If you'd wanted to try colloidal silver, you should have done it before the antibiotics to see how it worked for you. Now it could interfere with the antibiotics, and they can interfere with the action of homeopathic remedies.
The FDA doesn't regulate homeopathic medicines or herbal substances, so not having "FDA approval" isn't much of a point to go on. Drugs are required to have FDA approval and it isn't worth much either when you look at the number of recalls and lawsuits against drug companies.
The real "bunk" comes from skeppie trolls who know zero about holistic medicine and don't "get" that they're out of their league.
