Can you be a massage therapist if you experience back pain?!

Question: Can you be a massage therapist if you experience back pain?
I have struggled with back/hip pain for the last 4 years, to the point of not being able to complete tasks such as washing the dishes w/o having to hunch over bc of the pain n the lower back. The pain has lessened, or i have adjusted to the pain. Now I'm trying to pursue a career in massage therapy, but I know there is some standing but there's also sitting.
So as a massage therapist, is the majority of your time on your feet? n do fellow local therapists ever give hook ups to each other like discounts? Thx

Answers:

the only time i went to a massage therapists. she was on her feet the whole time
guess you could adjust the height you work at and sit.
depends on how good of friends you make.

Leaning over to massage puts enormous strain on the back and you would be severely limited. Expecting others to trade is not a good reason to become one.

Better to save the tuition money and use it on regular massage and chiropractic visits for yourself, really.....

Try a regular yoga class. Daily yoga strengthens the back and relieves back pain.

You could not do it.
Better consult a Acupuncture doctor and get rid of the back pain. Remember excess sex is one of the important factor for back pain.

Probably not a great career move until you resolve or modify your own back issues; fairly physical job.
