How do you hydrogenate oils at home?!

Question: How do you hydrogenate oils at home?
I want to make my own grapeseed butter for skin care purposes only but I'm not sure if there's a way to hydrogenate oils at home. Is there a machine out there where you can hydrogenate oils?

Answers:

Hydrogenation is a complicated process. It involves high pressures, an aluminum-based catalyst, and high temperatures of 500+ fahrenheit. It also requires taking hydrogen gas and bubbling it through the oil while maintaining extremely high temperatures and pressure. There isn't a way you could do this at home.

Crocoduck is right ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogenati… ). Plus surely those high temperatures damage oils!!
If you are looking to have a more solid product with only grapeseed oil you might be able to achieve that with adding beeswax. Plus that is good for the skin in its own right...as long as one is not allergic to bee products. You can read more here regarding using beeswax as a solidifying agent including how to achieve that:

Don't forget to add vitamin E to your oil before adding beeswax.....it will help protect the oil from rancidity.

Hope that helps.
Peace.
