No, I've taken both for different reasons, yet the literature says they are both used to prevent seizures. Neurontin is the brand name for gabapentin, and Lamictal is the brand name for Lamotrigin.
Lamictal also is used for mood disorders and Neurontin is also used for the aches of fibromyalgia.
