Been up for days and not feel sleepy?!

Question: Been up for days and not feel sleepy?
I know that sleepis very important but lately I was having paranormal nightmares which interrupted my sleep.

As a result, I began staying up so as to avoid the nightmares. However, I was then unable to sleep for a week. I then went to a doctor whom prescribed diazepam. I was then able to sleep but woke up in the middle of the nights. I also know they have side effects and am now wondering if there are any natural ways to get sleep because its going for three weeks now and am terrified with the lack of sleep I get.
Thanks

Perhaps you can make sure you get enough activity during the day. Work out a couple of hours, maybe? Then before bed, drink warm milk, put on soothing music, light a scented candle... whatever gets you "relaxed" and feeling cheerful (associate yourself with happy thoughts and peace only). Get off the computer and all electronics (even turn off your phone if need be), no TV. You can read, or maybe do some puzzle that challenges your brain, or fold origami or something really monotonous that you can do in your bed. Hopefully if you haven't slept in awhile your body will naturally just be very very exhausted and you'll fall asleep without the use of any drugs.

You can also try to guide the directions of your dreams. Have you heard of lucid dreaming? Some people are able to practice enough that they can make themselves fly in their own dreams. It's pretty fun. When you finally get around to falling asleep, try to talk yourself down as you start to doze. Firmly repeat an image or thought or scene in your head, over and over -- something fun or nice, like a great date you had with a partner, or a carnival you went to as a kid, whatever has a positive association for you. Hopefully your first dream sequence will evolve out of this positive reflection. Before going to bed every night make a point to tell yourself that you want to remember your dreams, that you want to avoid that particular dream. Repeat it to monotony and eventual sleep. You probably won't succeed very often at first, but with practice you will get better. Keep a dream diary, even. If you google this, you'll find lots of other strategies about dealing with dreams.

However, from what you said it seems like you might have other issues going on. Try talking to the doctor again and ask about something different to get you to sleep, bcause for some people it's just a matter of finding the right pill. However, if you want the "drug free" method then maybe you can talk to a psychologist instead, and he or she can help you examine the reasons you have so much anxiety during sleep.

make yourself more more and more tired...
then u see
