It's where healers pretend to manipulate special healing 'energy' from the universe through their hands in order to heal the sick. Includes Reiki and therapeutic touch. They typically don't even touch the patient - just hover their hands over strategic locations. It's complete pseudoscientific nonsense and no 'energy' medicine has ever been substantiated to perform better than placebo.

The quacks who practice 'energy' medicine will lie about its effectiveness, even provide 'studies' to support it, but like all quackery, these studies are always small, badly designed, lacked appropriate control groups, or had other issues that affected how meaningful the results were. There is no valid evidence that energy medicine works for any condition.

It's considered an alternative medicine. It's a spiritual type of healing, don't try it. It doesn't work, it's superstition. The techniques they use for healing work no better than a placebo. I don't see a problem with trying it if you're not ill, but if you're actually sick see a medical doctor. Energy medicine "works" in three different ways, when the "healer" has contact with the patient, without contact with the patient, and not even in the same room with the patient (absent). Any contact and non contact methods work no better than meditation, and when the healer is absent the treatment does not work at all

Alt med quacks claim to use an energy that they cannot define and cannot measure to "heal" diseases. Energy medicine is based on Asian beliefs and traditions and are not based on any scientific facts. Stay away from such. Don't waste your money.
