Hello Kelsey,

Vicks NyQuil Cold & Flu Relief liquid contains: Acetaminophen (Tylenol, for pain/fever), Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) and doxylamine succinate (antihistamine, sedation). Each dose of NyQuil can be repeated after 6 hours

Vicks DayQuil Cold & Flu Relief liquid contains: Acetaminophen (Tylenol, for pain/fever), Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) and Phenylephrine (Nasal decongestant). Each dose of DayQuil can be repeated after 4 hours.

For adults and children >12 years old, one dose of Nyquil or Dayquil is equal to 30 ml or 2 tablespoons or 6 teaspoonfuls.** Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.**

So if you want to use both products, make sure you don’t take more than 1 dose at a time, and split the doses throughout the day/night at least 4-6 hours apart, and you do not take more than 4 doses of either product over a 24 hour period.

Taking more than the recommended dose can cause serious health problems including overdose, so only these products as directed on the label.

Do not drink (or use other sedatives) or take other drugs containing Acetaminophen (Tylenol). If you are not sure whether a drug contains acetaminophen, ask a doctor or pharmacist.

However, you should not be using both of these products around the clock for a chronic basis. These products are meant to alleviate symptoms of nonsevere conditions. If your cough or fever lasts longer than 3-5 days the product should be discontinued and you should seek the advice of a doctor.

Yes... That's why it's called DAYquil and NYquil.
