It depends on what you want to use hypnosis for.

This is something that I do, I do consultations with people and create custom hypnosis tracts for them. One normal in person session can be anywhere from $150-$250 per session so its a great idea to have a tract that you can listen to over and over again. How much are you looking to spend? What are you seeking? Please be careful as a lot of places will take your money and give you a completely useless product, not only useless but could do more harm than good. Example: if you seek to stop smoking some might give you suggestions that say "I am not a smoker". Your mind will not register the negative and further program you with the belief "I am a smoker". Or "I no longer enjoy smoking" and your brain registers "I enjoy smoking". A skilled hypnoterapist, and they are very few out there, will make you a CD which says "Cigarettes disgusts me", "I enjoy my life free from cigarettes"; "I enjoy breathing pure air only"; "I now stop smoking";

Also you need a sound wave/beat that will take you deeper than alpha into theta. That is the brain wave frequency where deep lasting change happens.
