Vitamins are naturally occurring substances - not something which is made (your questions reads to me as if you thing 'they' make vitamins for everything - so I just thought I'd clarify) - although many companies make synthetic copies of vitamins - they can't make 'new' ones.

Antibiotics kill bacteria - vitamins don't do this. The only way there is any similarity between the EFFECT of antibiotics and the effect of vitamins is that some vitamins will help your own immune system mount a stronger attack against 'unfriendly bugs' in your body - they don't kill the bugs on your behalf.

If you have an bacterial infection you can swallow all the vitamin pills you like and they won't make a jot of difference. Naturopaths love pushing their vitamin supplements but they never support what they say with sound science. Nor do they warn of adverse effects. They simply parrot the supplier's marketing. Vitamins are a billion dollar industry, and are mostly owned by the dreaded Big Pharma.
